The leading voice representing timber millers, wood processors, and forestry product exporters in Ghana since 1958.
To position Ghana's timber and wood processing industry as a global leader in quality, integrity, value addition, and sustainable forest resource utilization.
To advocate for the interests of timber millers and wood exporters by engaging in policy formulation, promoting environmental compliance, facilitating market access, and establishing high standards of product grading.
Established in 1958, the Ghana Timber Millers Organization (GTMO) was founded to unite sawmillers and wood concession holders during a period of rapid industrial growth. Over the decades, GTMO has evolved from a localized trade group into a major national stakeholder working hand-in-hand with the Forestry Commission, the Forest Services Division (FSD), and global wood buyers.
Today, the association focuses heavily on adding value to raw wood resources, introducing tech-enabled tracking, supporting reforestation, and complying with stringent EU Deforestation Regulations (EUDR).
